What counts as a correction?

We treat three kinds of change as worth logging on this page:

  • Factual corrections — a wrong price, feature, platform, date, or claim that we fix.
  • Score changes — when re-testing or an app update moves one of our 0–10 criterion scores, or an overall ranking.
  • Clarifications — when something was accurate but unclear, and we reword it to remove ambiguity.

Routine copy edits — typos, formatting, link fixes — are made silently and are not logged. Substantive changes to meaning always are.

How quickly do you correct an error?

We aim to act on a confirmed factual error within two business days of verifying it. Score changes take longer because we re-run the relevant part of our benchmark before we move a number — we will not change a score on the strength of a single complaint without re-testing.

How do you mark a corrected article?

When we change the substance of a published page, we update its “Updated” date, note the change here with the date and what was affected, and — where the change is significant — add a short note within the article itself. Scores can move between cycles as apps ship updates; the date on this log is the source of truth for when a change happened.

How do I report a mistake or dispute a score?

Email corrections@calorieguardian.com with the page, the specific claim, and ideally a source or screenshot. App developers are welcome to flag findings; we will re-test where warranted, but we do not share our rubric or scores before publication. See our independence policy for how we keep that line clean.
